How do you activate and where do you place the hand warmers?

To use the warmers, carefully read the instructions supplied with the product.Remove the warmer from the packaging in an ambient temperature of around 20°C (house, car). Activates on contact with the air. At 0°C or 2,000 m altitude, blow several times on the warmer to activate it.When the warmer is well warmed, after 10 to 15 minutes, place it in a confined space, a coat pocket or trousers. Slip your hands into the pockets to warm up.

How do you activate and place the warmers on your feet?

A little like a fire, a combustible (iron powder/active carbon mix) and a combustive (oxygen in air) are required. So the reaction stops when there is no more active carbon (definitive stop after approximately 5h or in an airtight environment (in a rubber boot or with neoprene cycling overshoes). The interruption is temporary = if you give the warmer more air, the reaction will start up again.

What are the precautions for the hand warmers?

To keep your feet nice and warm with these foot warmers, you should know that: the exothermal reaction starts on the production line, there is a 100% check of the active mix, then only at the end of the line the foot warmer is inserted in the plastic packaging that stops the reaction and therefore heat production. It will start again when the pack is opened, with oxygen and humidity.

What are the precautions for the foot warmers?

These warmers are only for use on the feet, they should not be placed directly on the skin or any other part of the body. Do not place them on the instep; they should not be compressed. Do not stick them to thin socks or tights. Do not wear them with rubber sandals or boots. Do not use while sleeping. Do not use with cosmetics or other heating devices. Do not place two warmers on the same foot.

What are the warmers used for?

These warmers are exclusively for use in cold weather, do not use near a heat source: heating in cars, by the fireplace, etc. They are not designed for intensive sports activities and are to be avoided where there is perspiration.If the warmer seems too hot or if it causes an unpleasant sensation, irritation or a rash, remove it.

Contra-indications and use under adult supervision

These warmers are not recommended for children under 12 or those whose shoe size is under 4.5.Children, the elderly and disabled people should use this product with care and under supervision.If you have diabetes, fragile or sensitive skin, circulatory problems, paralysis or damaged nerves, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or are a pregnant woman or in the case of doubt, we recommend that you consult a doctor before use.Do not apply to frostbite or desensitised skin.

BORDERLINE CASES

The warmer is not working:_ If there isn’t enough air around the warmer : in a neoprene overshoe or a rubber boot for example._ If conditions are extreme: in extreme cold, the warmer provides additional warmth to the operating temperature, but unfortunately it struggles to warm up if the temperature really is too low._ If the altitude exceeds 3,000 m, the lack of oxygen reduces the reaction.

Restrictions

If there is no air around the warmer : enclosed in a neoprene shoe cover or in rubber boots, ... in extreme conditions: In very cold weather, the warmer provides extra warmth in addition to the T° it is used in, but unfortunately, if the T° is too low, it has trouble in very high altitude: > 3000 m, the lack of oxygen limits the reaction.

Single-use product

The exothermic reaction consumes the activated charcoal and oxidises the iron. Once the fuel is consumed, the reaction is complete and the powder becomes hard.

Compact hand warmer for 6 hours of heat. Self-adhesive foot warmer for 5 hours of heat provided as long as they are inserted very hot in the shoe. Do not adhere to the skin or on the instep.
